Line Chart Showcase

1. Icons on Scatter Plot

The current approach. Icons are plotted on a secondary, invisible Y-axis at the bottom of the chart.

2. Vertical Reference Lines

A vertical line cuts across the chart to mark the exact time of each food or crash event.

3. Labeled Reference Dots

Labeled dots are placed directly on the chart, corresponding to the event time and a relevant value (e.g., energy level).

4. Annotated Regions

Shaded background areas (ReferenceArea) highlight the one-hour period following a food or crash event.

5. Icons on a Swimlane

A dedicated horizontal lane at the top of the chart displays event icons, keeping the main plot area clean.

6. Event Flags/Labels

Custom labels appear directly on the chart at the time of an event, pointing to the relevant data point.

7. Different Dot Styles

The dots on the main symptom lines change color or size when a food or crash event occurs at that time.

8. Interactive Tooltip Indicators

The chart appears clean, but hovering over a line reveals a detailed tooltip with event icons and precise times.

9. Data-Driven Background Color

The chart's background color subtly changes in the one-hour window following a food or crash event.

10. Synchronized Table Below

A simple and clear approach. A table listing only food and crash events and their exact times is displayed directly beneath the chart.
